Addressing the empty nest starts long before our children leave home. We are required to trust that we have answered the call to train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.Proverbs 2:26 NKJV Has your parenting been an example of trusting in the Lord with all your heart and leaning not on your own understanding Proverbs 3:5 KJV or for that matter have you shared all of Proverbs 3 with your child that they may know what God requires of them. I freely admit in this I have failed, but through those failures have gained wisdom in going forward.
My flesh is done parenting and once again I must sacrifice what I want for my children that they might walk in the glory of God. His plans are greater than what I can offer. He can turn their hurt into help, their faults and failures into faith, their past into purpose, and their defeats into victory.
